Community, Innovation & Creativity
By adding the ART to Code, CodeHER clubs aim to have words like “creative” and “exciting” replace “boring” and “difficult” in the minds of girls when they think about coding.
CodeHER clubs are engaging, supportive, and collaborative spaces where girls are free to learn together, ask questions, and help one another!
Students not only assemble a portfolio of cool coding projects, but may also enter those projects in Code/Art’s annual all-girls coding competition to win prizes and gain recognition!
Why Clubs Matter
Even though Women make up 57% — well over half – of all US undergraduates, only 18% — less than 1 in 5 – of US Computer Science grads are female.
CodeHER clubs aim to reverse this trend by creating spaces where girls are encouraged to be both creative and innovative.

“Code/Art turns that important first step with coding into an exciting and inspiring experience. Seeing my daughter’s excitement as she shows me her art gives me confidence that Code/Art is opening doors and transforming lives!”
– Daniel Karl, Parent
